I regularly give talks and tell stories at museums and schools, taking ancient legends and folk history to young audiences. As a storyteller brought up in the oral storytelling tradition, I take a series of objects and illustrations, letting the children choose which object or illustration they would most like to hear the story of. Then I tell the stories from memory. This way the sessions can be much more reactive and led by the children’s interests. I’ve also been doing handling sessions with objects from Scottish Folk Tradition and sharing some of folk tales of Selkies; Faeries; Giants and Ogres these objects feature in. Pervious events have been held with the Edinburgh Storytelling Centre, a lecture for the Celtic Society and I’m currently working with primary schools in Midlothian.

If you’d like me to come and tell stories at your school or library, please get in touch via the contact page or through my publisher, Wide Open Sea.
